The Opportunity:

Join a school launching a new Sixth Form and strengthening its IGCSE programme. As an A Level History Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping student success and contributing to the development of a new department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching for IGCSE and A Level History (Pearson / Edexcel)
  • Plan and prepare lessons aligned with Pearson specifications and assessment objectives
  • Support the development and launch of the new Sixth Form Department
  • Contribute to schemes of work, curriculum planning, and internal assessments
  • Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations
  • Track student progress and provide academic support as needed
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and professionalism
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and Sixth Form staff

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • British-trained teacher with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in History
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level
  • Strong knowledge of Pearson / Edexcel exam boards
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a new Sixth Form

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development
  • International school or Sixth Form experience
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
