The Opportunity:

As an Advocate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting marginalized young people and their families. This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact through individualized care, family engagement, and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with young people and their families through one-to-one sessions, group work, and home visits.
  • Coordinate a person-centred approach to support students from entry to exit, ensuring their academic, behavioural, and therapeutic needs are met.
  • Collaborate with internal and external professionals to create and implement individual education plans that promote development and progression.
  • Embed safeguarding and inclusion principles into all aspects of practice.
  • Provide therapeutic support that enhances emotional wellbeing and life skills.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to student support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support strategies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of policies and practices that promote student welfare and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in working with vulnerable young people and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusion principles.
  • Commitment to therapeutic and holistic approaches to education and support.

Preferred

  • Experience in a special educational needs setting.
  • Knowledge of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support strategies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans.
  • Background in therapeutic interventions or mental health support.
  • Experience with multi-agency working and collaboration.
