ALNCo (11-16) Secondary School Partnership role available with a school in Guernsey.

The Opportunity:

As an ALNCo (11-16), you will provide leadership and support in developing an inclusive, challenging, and supportive environment for students and staff. You will play a key role in the strategic development and implementation of the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities policy, with a focus on raising achievement and improving life chances for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of an inclusive culture that supports the needs of all learners.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Vice Principal Inclusion to shape and implement the school’s SEN and Disabilities policy.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of SEN and Disabilities support strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Secondary School Partnership to drive continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure that the school’s policies and practices meet the needs of students with additional learning needs.
  • Support the Principal in providing leadership and direction for the school.
  • Promote a culture of high aspiration, mutual respect, and student success.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with parents and the wider community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in special educational needs and disabilities support.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in educational leadership.
  • Ability to develop and implement inclusive policies and practices.
  • Experience working within a school or educational partnership setting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to student success and high-quality teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students aged 11-16.
  • Experience in strategic development and policy implementation.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education and curriculum personalisation.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team.
