The Opportunity:

As an English Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum and leading a dedicated team of educators. You will be responsible for driving academic excellence and supporting staff development within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English curriculum team to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a challenging and inclusive curriculum that supports student achievement and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with middle leadership and external partners to drive continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance and support to enhance teaching standards.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver a broad and enriching educational experience beyond the classroom.
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school’s academic programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum for students aged 11-16.
  • Experience in managing and developing teaching staff.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality education that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance.
  • Background in working with special educational needs and inclusive practices.
  • Experience in collaborative working across multiple schools or institutions.
  • Familiarity with performance management systems and processes.
