The Opportunity:

As an Artist in Residence, you will have the chance to develop your personal artistic practice while inspiring and engaging students through creative enrichment. This role is ideal for a passionate and innovative artist looking to make a meaningful impact in an inspiring educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver creative enrichment activities that inspire students and support the school’s arts programme.
  • Collaborate with the Art Department to enhance the creative curriculum and provide mentorship to students.
  • Maintain and develop your own artistic practice within the school environment.
  • Participate in school events, exhibitions, and other co-curricular activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in developing their artistic skills and confidence.
  • Engage with the wider school community through public events and collaborations.
  • Contribute to the visual and cultural identity of the school through your artistic work.
  • Support the school’s mission of fostering creativity, personal growth, and a love of the arts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong portfolio of artistic work demonstrating a range of techniques and styles.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring in an educational or creative setting.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging creative workshops and activities.
  • Commitment to working within a school environment and supporting student development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with young people in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of contemporary art practices and trends.
  • Experience with curriculum development in an educational context.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
