The Opportunity:
The Assistant Head of Senior School - Teaching and Learning will play a vital role in shaping academic excellence and driving strategic development across the school. This is a leadership position that requires a visionary and dedicated individual to support the Senior School Leadership Team in delivering high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of College and Deputy Head Academic in maintaining high standards of academic provision.
- Contribute to whole-school strategic development and lead key priorities within the College Development Plan.
- Ensure robust systems of quality assurance through lesson visits, work scrutiny and data analysis.
- Work closely with Heads of Department to secure consistency and excellence in teaching and learning.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with pupils, parents and staff.
- Promote a culture of mutual respect, high expectations and academic seriousness.
- Play a full part in the wider life of the school, including events, trips and ongoing development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
- Strong academic background and experience as an excellent classroom practitioner.
- Ability to think strategically and deliver operationally.
- High levels of organisation, precision and attention to detail.
- Confident, thoughtful and measured communicator.
- Ability to manage complexity and competing priorities effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching and learning or professional development leadership.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting systems.
- Experience in curriculum design and delivery.
- Experience in staff development and coaching.
- Experience in leading INSET and CPD programmes.
