The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a school that consistently delivers outstanding results. This is a leadership role with the opportunity to influence strategy, support staff development, and drive continuous improvement across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage specific areas of the school’s operations, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Support the Headteacher in overseeing academic and pastoral standards, including monitoring performance and implementing improvements.
  • Develop and implement policies that promote student well-being, inclusion, and academic success.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and staff to enhance teaching and learning practices across the school.
  • Represent the school at internal and external meetings, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Oversee the management of staff, including performance reviews, professional development, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and data protection.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s long-term strategic plan and annual objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an education setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of school operations, including curriculum development, staff management, and safeguarding.
  • Experience in driving academic improvement and student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a selective intake or grammar school background.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted inspection processes and a track record of achieving high ratings.
  • Experience in leading or supporting initiatives related to mental health, inclusion, and pastoral care.
  • A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in education.
