Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent and effective support for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates and recommendations for intervention.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in English or primary subjects as required.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure that all students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and strategies for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school and legal requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience in teaching English or primary subjects.
  • Strong understanding of SEND policy and practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with assessment and intervention strategies for students with additional needs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and inclusion strategies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
