Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that challenge and motivate students.
  • Support the development of students’ knowledge, skills, and understanding across all key stages.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards and improve outcomes for all learners.
  • Participate in the planning, delivery, and assessment of Science curriculum across the school.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to the school's Catholic ethos and values.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or taking on a Head of Subject role.
  • Experience with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and staff training.
  • Familiarity with the Kent Rewards Scheme and other staff benefits.
  • Experience in promoting student wellbeing and behaviour management.
