The Opportunity:
As an Attendance and Inclusion Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting excellent attendance, safeguarding students, and supporting families to overcome barriers to education. This is a key position within the pastoral team, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and monitor student attendance, identifying and addressing barriers to attendance.
- Work closely with students, parents, and staff to support and improve attendance rates.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with families and stakeholders.
- Contribute to safeguarding students and ensuring their well-being.
- Provide guidance and support to students and families in overcoming challenges that affect their education.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to implement strategies that improve attendance and inclusion.
- Monitor and report on attendance data and trends.
- Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and student success through proactive engagement and intervention.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience of working in a secondary school setting.
- Experience of working as part of a team and independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and inclusion.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in attendance management or pastoral care.
- Experience in safeguarding and supporting students with additional needs.
- Knowledge of strategies to improve student attendance and engagement.
- Experience in working within a Catholic school or similar educational environment.
