The Opportunity:

As an Attendance and Inclusion Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting excellent attendance, safeguarding students, and supporting families to overcome barriers to education. This is a key position within the pastoral team, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and monitor student attendance, identifying and addressing barriers to attendance.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and staff to support and improve attendance rates.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to safeguarding students and ensuring their well-being.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and families in overcoming challenges that affect their education.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to implement strategies that improve attendance and inclusion.
  • Monitor and report on attendance data and trends.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and student success through proactive engagement and intervention.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience of working in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience of working as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and inclusion.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in attendance management or pastoral care.
  • Experience in safeguarding and supporting students with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of strategies to improve student attendance and engagement.
  • Experience in working within a Catholic school or similar educational environment.
