The Opportunity:

As a Boarding Tutor, you will be responsible for supporting students in a structured and caring boarding community. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, support, and encouragement to students in a boarding environment.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive community atmosphere for all boarders.
  • Monitor and support students’ well-being, both academically and personally.
  • Collaborate with the boarding team and other staff to ensure the smooth running of the boarding house.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of social, cultural, and recreational activities for boarders.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and other stakeholders regarding student progress and welfare.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s mission and guiding principles in daily interactions.
  • Be available to work across a range of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Experience working with young people in a supportive or pastoral role.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a boarding or residential care setting.
  • Experience in education or youth work.
  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate or similar curriculum.
  • A background in music or languages, aligning with the school’s specialisms.
