The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Buildings Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation of our campus. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, clean, and secure learning environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the daily upkeep of the school’s facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor the cleanliness, security, and general condition of the school site.
  • Carry out basic building maintenance and repair tasks to ensure facilities remain in good working order.
  • Assist with the management of day-to-day operations, including responding to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Support the Estates Team in ensuring all areas of the school are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the school site.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors to address concerns and provide assistance.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues promptly.
  • Work flexibly within a term-time or full-year working pattern as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, with practical skills in general building repairs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A calm, approachable, and professional manner.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational setting or similar environment.
  • Additional qualifications in building maintenance or related fields.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including term-time or full-year patterns.
  • Familiarity with using maintenance and cleaning equipment.
