The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Buildings Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation of our campus. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, clean, and secure learning environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the daily upkeep of the school’s facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor the cleanliness, security, and general condition of the school site.
- Carry out basic building maintenance and repair tasks to ensure facilities remain in good working order.
- Assist with the management of day-to-day operations, including responding to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Support the Estates Team in ensuring all areas of the school are maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the school site.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors to address concerns and provide assistance.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues promptly.
- Work flexibly within a term-time or full-year working pattern as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, with practical skills in general building repairs.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A calm, approachable, and professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in an educational setting or similar environment.
- Additional qualifications in building maintenance or related fields.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including term-time or full-year patterns.
- Familiarity with using maintenance and cleaning equipment.
