The Opportunity:

As a Careers Lead, you will play a key role in supporting Year 10 and Year 11 students as they explore their future career paths. You will work closely with students, parents, and external partners to deliver effective careers advice and help prepare students for life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver careers guidance programs tailored to Key Stage 4 students.
  • Coordinate and manage careers events, appointments, and resources.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external partners to ensure a comprehensive approach to careers education.
  • Support students in making informed decisions about their future education and career options.
  • Maintain accurate records and track student progress in careers-related activities.
  • Provide guidance on further education, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and developments in careers education and training.
  • Promote the importance of careers education across the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with young people.
  • Good organizational skills to manage appointments, events, and resources.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of career pathways relevant to Key Stage 4 learners or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in using IT tools for research and presentations.
  • A genuine interest in student development and career guidance.

Preferred

  • Experience in careers education or youth guidance.
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of local colleges, universities, and training providers.
  • Experience with careers guidance frameworks and tools.
