The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Catering Assistant to join our team and contribute to the daily provision of high-quality meals that support student learning and well-being. This role is essential to maintaining a welcoming and nourishing environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
  • Assist with the organisation and management of catering operations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other catering team members.
  • Support the development of a positive and engaging food service culture.
  • Ensure all catering equipment is used correctly and maintained in good condition.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the catering service.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and term time only.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with young people or in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating practices.
  • Previous experience in a school or similar catering environment.
