Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student learning and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through regular assessments and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular science activities and events.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and continuously improve teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on academic achievement and extra-curricular enrichment.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of learning.
