Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including workshop-based DT, Food, and materials.
  • Support students in developing their knowledge and skills in Hospitality and Catering.
  • Encourage independent learning and help students achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Design Technology curriculum.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular and pastoral activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Design Technology and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop-based DT, Food, and materials at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Hospitality and Catering (WJEC).
  • Flexibility to contribute to a range of Design Technology areas.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Enthusiasm for extra-curricular and pastoral involvement.
