The Opportunity:

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, delivering high-quality lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for science. You will contribute to curriculum development and support the school’s mission to provide an engaging and challenging education for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons in Chemistry that inspire students and secure excellent outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the science curriculum.
  • Assess, track and monitor pupil progress, implementing interventions where required.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school CPD, meetings and initiatives.
  • Support and contribute to the wider ethos, activities and values of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge in Chemistry.
  • Passionate educator who motivates, challenges and engages students of all abilities.
  • Reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional growth.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Team player who contributes positively to a collaborative department.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with Lemov’s Teach Like A Champion or Tom Bennett’s approaches to behaviour and teaching.
