The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons across all key stages, ensuring a deep understanding of the subject.
  • Plan and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and curricula.
  • Support students in their academic and personal development, with a strong focus on safeguarding and pastoral care.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school-wide initiatives to contribute to the continuous improvement of the institution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Teaching qualification (QTS/PGCE or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at secondary and/or post-16 level.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Chemistry curriculum and confidence in planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons.
  • An understanding of safeguarding, differentiation, and effective classroom management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • C2 level English proficiency (or equivalent).

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international or British curriculum school.
  • Familiarity with A-levels and the Spanish Baccalaureate curriculum.
  • Experience with teaching younger students or those with diverse learning needs.
