Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons to Secondary students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to the development of the English department.
  • Support students in preparing for IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Stay updated with current educational trends and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proficient level of English (native speaker or C2/C1 level).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, ideally English or a related field.
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification, or a recognised Spanish teaching qualification (Master’s level).
  • Experience in teaching English Language and Literature in the British system at IGCSE.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching English Literature at A Level.
  • Experience teaching Drama, Media Studies or Humanities.
  • Experience of leading a department.
