Summary:
Class Teacher needed at a specialist primary school supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs.

A school dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for children aged 4–11 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high quality, inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils.
- Create a positive, safe and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and wellbeing.
- Develop and implement personalised learning opportunities to support pupil progress and engagement.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND, SEMH and ASD.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, recording outcomes accurately and consistently.
- Contribute to the development and review of EHCP targets and pupil reports.
- Promote positive behaviour through strong relationships and clear expectations.
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals to support pupils.
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and meeting individual pupil needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH or ASD.
- Knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies and trauma-informed approaches.
- Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs.
- Understanding of therapeutic approaches and relational practice.
- Experience working within a specialist or alternative provision setting.
