Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and imaginative Classics lessons that develop students' analytical and linguistic skills
- Foster a love of the classical world through creative and stimulating teaching methods
- Assess student work with good judgment and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a well-ordered and motivating classroom environment
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture
- Support students in developing resilience, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Ensure punctuality, strong organisational skills, and reliability in all aspects of the role
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Ability to deliver Classics in an ordered and imaginative way
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas clearly
- Good judgment in assessing student work and classroom management
- Strong organisational skills and punctuality
- Experience working effectively as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience teaching at a secondary level
- Knowledge of classical languages and cultures
- Experience with curriculum development
- Strong understanding of student-centered learning approaches
- Experience with inclusive education practices
