The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality lessons and support colleagues and students across the academy. This is a dynamic role that offers opportunities for professional development and collaboration within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects.
  • Provide cover for absent staff in a flexible and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Principal and other Cover Supervisors to maintain learning standards.
  • Engage with students and colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency in learning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staff training initiatives.
  • Contribute to the school’s improvement plan and support the achievement of all students.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful working relationship with all members of the school community.
  • Assist in the implementation of pastoral and academic support strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good educational background, including GCSE equivalent or above.
  • Willingness to engage in further professional development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently.
  • Commitment to student achievement and school improvement.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education support roles.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience with curriculum development or lesson planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-working abilities.
