The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support teaching and learning across a range of subjects, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the classroom teacher. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and wants to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Deliver and support cover work across a range of subjects.
  • Ensure lesson outcomes are achieved and students understand the value of their education.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with faculty leaders, senior leadership team and pastoral staff.
  • Work collaboratively with subject specialists and support the school’s mission and values.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Use data and information systems to support effective cover provision.
  • Follow and implement school policies and procedures consistently.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Education to A Level or Degree Level.
  • Experience working in schools or with young people.
  • Administrative experience and the ability to use data systems, spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and follow systems, policies and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, whether through teaching, mentoring or youth work.
  • Experience with classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
  • Experience with continuing professional development (CPD) and reflective practice.
