The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Early Help Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students. This is a vital position that supports the school’s mission to provide a secure, nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate early help interventions to support students and families in need.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported and managed appropriately.
  • Work closely with internal and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Attend relevant meetings and contribute to the development of safeguarding strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding practices across the school.
  • Ensure compliance with all safeguarding legislation and school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people and families, ideally in a safeguarding role.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A confident, caring, and patient nature.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of attendance processes and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Previous experience in a safeguarding or early help role.
  • Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
  • Experience in managing and supporting vulnerable students.
