The Opportunity:
As the Deputy Director of Key Stage 3, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students during this critical stage of their education. You will lead efforts to improve student progress, behaviour, and attendance while working closely with families and external agencies. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee student progress across Key Stage 3, ensuring high standards of achievement.
- Develop and enhance the academic curriculum and tutorial programme.
- Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies, and the Support for Learning Team.
- Promote excellent behaviour and attendance across the key stage.
- Support students through targeted interventions and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and impactful learning experience.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Key Stage 3 initiatives.
- Encourage student engagement and participation in extracurricular activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of Key Stage 3 curriculum and student development.
- Experience in managing student progress and behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with the Manx National Curriculum.
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
- Background in professional development and staff training.
- Leadership training or experience in educational leadership roles.
