Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to raise student attainment and achievement.
  • Monitor and analyze data to inform teaching practices and support student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to whole-school improvement and development.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Support the professional development of Mathematics staff.
  • Work closely with other departments to enhance cross-curricular links and opportunities.
  • Engage with the local community and promote the school's values and achievements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in Mathematics.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to use data effectively to improve student outcomes.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with the Manx National Curriculum and Key Stage 5 qualifications.
  • Experience in leading extracurricular activities or enrichment programmes.
  • Experience in managing large teams and driving school-wide improvement initiatives.
