The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Headteacher Behaviour Culture and Attitudes, you will play a key role in shaping a positive school culture that promotes excellence, equality, and high expectations. This is a leadership position with a strong focus on student conduct, pastoral care, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Headteacher to develop and implement a clear educational philosophy and school ethos.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and pastoral care across all aspects of school life.
  • Lead the development of pastoral care strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a policy for positive attendance and a culture of praise and reward.
  • Provide professional development and training to staff on positive behaviour management.
  • Manage and support a team of pastoral leaders to raise standards across the school.
  • Promote a school community focused on learning, attendance, and positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to ensure the school’s vision and values are consistently upheld.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and pastoral care.
  • Experience in developing and implementing school policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and staff teams.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar leadership role within a school or college.
  • Background in curriculum development or staff training.
  • Experience with attendance management and reward systems.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Strong track record in raising standards and improving outcomes.
