The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Headteacher, you will provide strong leadership and direction to ensure the highest standards of education, care, and safeguarding across the school. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will support strategic development while maintaining a strong operational focus. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of the school and delivering positive outcomes for pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply fully with safeguarding procedures and principles, including participation in the assessment of referrals.
  • Act as overall curriculum coordinator and manager across the school.
  • Lead on the positive support of behaviour that may challenge, promoting consistent and effective practice.
  • Collaborate with education, pastoral, and clinical colleagues as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Monitor pupil progress and targets to ensure each individual achieves planned outcomes.
  • Oversee Behaviour Support Plans with clinical and pastoral teams, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Maintain effective links with external colleagues, both within the Outcomes First Group and with partner organisations.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and ongoing professional development of staff.
  • Undertake delegated management responsibilities, including supervision, appraisals, and attendance management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience of teaching children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions and/or behaviours that challenge.
  • Degree qualification, QTS, and relevant sector-specific qualifications.
  • Experience of teaching children and young people with complex needs.
  • Experience of managing and leading staff effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership and strategic development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and support staff effectively.
