The Opportunity:

As Deputy Housemaster / Deputy Housemistress, you will play a vital role in shaping the daily lives of students, supporting their personal and academic growth, and contributing to the vibrant boarding community. This role combines pastoral leadership with teaching and co-curricular involvement, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Housemaster / Housemistress in providing pastoral care and managing the day-to-day operations of the house
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Promote the school's values and aspirations through daily interactions and activities
  • Teach a limited timetable while contributing to the co-curricular and residential life of the school
  • Act as a mentor and role model, offering guidance and support to students during key developmental stages
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for all students in the house
  • Participate in weekend activities, residential trips, and other school events
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure the well-being and success of students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree-level qualification
  • Proven experience in teaching and boarding environments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to student welfare and development

Preferred

  • Teaching or professional qualifications in education
  • Experience in international boarding schools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire both students and staff
