The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and successful department. This role offers the chance to inspire students across the 11-18 age range and contribute to a forward-thinking curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of design and technology education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons to students across the 11-18 age range, including GCSE and A Level qualifications.
  • Support the delivery of Level 1/2 Cambridge National qualifications in Engineering and/or Construction and A Level Product Design.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Design and Technology curriculum.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events that support student development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Design and Technology teacher with experience teaching to at least GCSE level.
  • Ability to teach across the 11-18 age range.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Level 1/2 Cambridge National in Engineering and/or Construction.
  • Experience teaching A Level Product Design.
  • Background in extra-curricular leadership or involvement in student activities.
  • Experience with new and emerging design technologies.
