A Design and Technology Teacher is needed to join a dynamic department and deliver inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE and A’ Level qualifications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE and A’ Level qualifications.
  • Manage and maintain a safe, stimulating and well-equipped workshop environment.
  • Develop and implement engaging schemes of learning that promote creativity and technical skills.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised guidance and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Design and Technology education.
  • Encourage student creativity and innovation through practical, hands-on learning experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design and Technology.
  • Ability to teach Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE Design and Technology and the Materials Engineering Pathway.
  • Excellent workshop skills, including hand and machine manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong design communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, including a focus on student care and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Product Design at A’ Level.
  • Experience working in a school with a strong commitment to pastoral care and community.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology in Design and Technology.
