Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Design Technology lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and community engagement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements in Design Technology.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and student well-being.
  • Contribute to staff development and professional learning opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Design Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of current Design Technology practices and curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading cross-curricular projects.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools used in Design Technology.
  • Experience with teaching in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Strong track record in student engagement and attainment.
