Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and learning policies.
  • Use performance data to inform teaching strategies and support student progress.
  • Set and mark home learning in accordance with school policies, providing constructive feedback.
  • Engage with parents and carers to communicate student progress and development.
  • Participate in school events, including Open Evenings and Parents’ Evenings.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and support the continuous improvement of the Design Technology curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and ensure effective use of materials and equipment.
  • Support students in developing the skills and knowledge needed for future success in Design Technology and related fields.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Design Technology.
  • Experience in teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies and behaviour management.
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Design Technology.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design tools and software.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
