Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging Religious Education curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Plan and implement lessons that promote critical thinking, discussion, and evaluation skills in students.
- Use performance data to set targets, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Assess student work regularly, provide constructive feedback, and ensure it is acted upon.
- Communicate student progress to parents and carers through regular updates and meetings.
- Participate in school events such as Open Evenings, Parents’ Evenings, and Celebration Events.
- Support colleagues within the department and contribute to departmental meetings and improvement plans.
- Engage in continuous professional development and performance management processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver a rigorous curriculum.
- Experience in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to use data to inform teaching and monitor student progress.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with AQA or OCR specifications.
- Background in teaching Religious Education at GCSE or A Level.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental improvement plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in pastoral support or student engagement initiatives.
