Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging Religious Education curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Plan and implement lessons that promote critical thinking, discussion, and evaluation skills in students.
  • Use performance data to set targets, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Assess student work regularly, provide constructive feedback, and ensure it is acted upon.
  • Communicate student progress to parents and carers through regular updates and meetings.
  • Participate in school events such as Open Evenings, Parents’ Evenings, and Celebration Events.
  • Support colleagues within the department and contribute to departmental meetings and improvement plans.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and performance management processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver a rigorous curriculum.
  • Experience in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to use data to inform teaching and monitor student progress.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA or OCR specifications.
  • Background in teaching Religious Education at GCSE or A Level.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental improvement plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student engagement initiatives.
