The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Design Technology Technician to support the Technology department in delivering high-quality lessons. This role is essential to ensuring that equipment and resources are in excellent working condition, enabling effective teaching and learning across the academy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain equipment and resources to ensure smooth delivery of Design Technology lessons.
- Work closely with the Head of Department to support teaching and learning activities.
- Ensure all tools, materials, and machinery are safe, functional, and in line with health and safety standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of practical lessons and projects.
- Provide technical support to both students and teachers during lessons.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, repairs, and inventory.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Design Technology education.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in a technical or educational support role.
- Knowledge of Design Technology equipment, tools, and materials.
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines in a school setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience working within a school or educational environment.
- Familiarity with CAD software or other design-related technologies.
- Previous experience in a similar technician or support role.
