The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. This is a vital role in supporting a school that is committed to the best outcomes for every young person. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the implementation and monitoring of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns.
- Liaise with external agencies, including social services and the local authority.
- Provide support and guidance to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Attend and contribute to safeguarding meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safeguarding incidents.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding across the school community.
- Support students and families through pastoral care and welfare initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding or child protection.
- Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and ICT skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and proactively.
Preferred
- Experience in working with vulnerable students.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- Experience with child protection procedures in a school environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
