The Opportunity:
As the Director of Sport and Health, you will lead and develop the PE department to become a key strength of the school. This role is ideal for a passionate and inspiring leader who is committed to delivering high-quality sport and health education across all levels of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the PE curriculum to align with the school’s vision and mission
- Inspire and motivate students through dynamic and engaging sports and health activities
- Raise the profile of sport within the school and local community through competitions and events
- Collaborate with external providers to enhance the quality of sports and health education
- Stay up to date with current research and best practices in sport and health education
- Implement a range of teaching methods, including inquiry and project-based learning
- Support and develop the teaching team to achieve the highest standards in instruction
- Prepare comprehensive student reports in line with school requirements
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports / Athletics
- Qualified teaching status
- Strong knowledge of teaching Sport and Health
- Experience in classroom management
- Understanding of teaching approaches that include feedback, reflection, and ATL skills
- Basic French language skills
Preferred
- Experience in leading a PE department
- Experience with international curricula
- Experience with EAL support strategies
- Leadership and team development experience
