Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the sport department to maintain and enhance its exceptional reputation.
  • Manage and support a team of outstanding teaching and coaching staff.
  • Deliver a comprehensive and inclusive sports programme that promotes participation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Rugby School Group to leverage shared resources and expertise.
  • Ensure the school continues to receive recognition for its sporting achievements and facilities.
  • Promote the school's sport scholars programme and support student development through sport.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of sporting events, competitions, and training sessions.
  • Work closely with other departments to integrate sport into the broader educational experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of sports coaching, curriculum development, and student welfare.
  • Experience in managing and developing sports teams and programmes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a school group or multi-academy trust.
  • Background in a co-educational environment.
  • Experience with high-performance sport or elite athlete development.
  • Familiarity with the Rugby School Group or similar educational institutions.
