Full-Time Equivalent salary is £24,000.56 per annum. Actual annual salary will be pro-rata to reflect Term Time Plus working and the hours agreed with the postholder.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join a dynamic team and support the delivery of high-quality early education and care. This role is essential in nurturing young children and preparing them for future learning, with a strong focus on child-led development and holistic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in line with national legislation and school policies.
  • Create a nurturing environment that supports the emotional, social, and educational development of children.
  • Provide individualised care and support for children, including assistance with personal care routines and toilet training.
  • Encourage language and communication development through play, books, and interaction.
  • Act as a key person for a group of children, ensuring their comfort and security within the Nursery.
  • Support the delivery of the curriculum through creative activities such as music, drama, and arts.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of educational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Liaise with parents and other professionals to support the development and well-being of children.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young children in an early years setting.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and child protection policies.
  • Commitment to child-led learning and holistic development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take responsibility for individual and group tasks.

Preferred

  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Familiarity with Scottish early learning and childcare guidelines.
  • Experience in supporting children with additional needs.
  • Confidence in using ICT for planning, recording, and reporting on children's progress.
  • Experience in outdoor learning and play-based education.
