As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities and additional needs throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with disabilities and additional needs in accessing learning and developing new skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Promote wellbeing, independence, and inclusion through daily activities and interactions.
  • Encourage creativity and engagement by incorporating interests such as art, music, sport, and reading into learning.
  • Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist with personal care and daily living skills as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to support student progress.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient approach.
  • Strong basic levels of literacy and numeracy.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and use initiative.
  • A positive attitude towards training, learning, and continuous personal development.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and respect for all.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children and young people with disabilities or additional needs.
  • Experience in an educational or care setting.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
