The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal development of students at the High/Secondary School level. You will deliver engaging IB DP English courses that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a deep appreciation for literature and language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality IB DP English courses that align with curriculum standards
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and student engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and professional development
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and student support initiatives
- Stay current with educational research and best practices in teaching and learning
- Support the school’s mission of developing globally minded, well-rounded students
- Provide individualized feedback to students to support their academic and personal growth
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching certification
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the High/Secondary School level
- Strong knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and its pedagogical principles
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students in the study of English and Literature
Preferred
- Experience teaching in an international school environment
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum
- Strong experience in developing and delivering innovative lesson plans
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus
