Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Collaborate with the Head of English and department colleagues to develop and implement an effective curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving academic excellence and personal growth through innovative teaching methods.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to English.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school and department through professional development and shared best practices.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and achievement.
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends and incorporate them into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a department.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities in English.
  • Familiarity with the Bridge Academy Trust’s values and mission.
  • Experience with teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
