Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and a love of reading and writing.
  • Develop and implement a rich, ambitious curriculum that supports student progress and achievement.
  • Analyse student data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Support students as a form tutor, ensuring they feel valued and included.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Promote the school’s values and ethos through inclusive and reflective teaching practices.
  • Encourage student leadership and personal development through mentorship and extra-curricular opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status with a degree (or equivalent) in English.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.
  • Experience in data-informed teaching and the ability to use insights to improve student outcomes.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and maintaining high expectations for all students.
  • Excellent classroom management and delivery skills, with a focus on student engagement and progress.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience with form tutor responsibilities.
  • Background in extra-curricular activities or leadership roles.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
