Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and a love of reading and writing.
- Develop and implement a rich, ambitious curriculum that supports student progress and achievement.
- Analyse student data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Support students as a form tutor, ensuring they feel valued and included.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching methods.
- Promote the school’s values and ethos through inclusive and reflective teaching practices.
- Encourage student leadership and personal development through mentorship and extra-curricular opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status with a degree (or equivalent) in English.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.
- Experience in data-informed teaching and the ability to use insights to improve student outcomes.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and maintaining high expectations for all students.
- Excellent classroom management and delivery skills, with a focus on student engagement and progress.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Experience with form tutor responsibilities.
- Background in extra-curricular activities or leadership roles.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
