The Opportunity:
As a Food Technician, you will support the Food Technology department by assisting with practical and theory lessons, ensuring a safe and clean working environment, and managing stock rotation and food storage. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with classroom teaching during practical and theory lessons
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment
- Manage stock rotation and food storage procedures
- Support the Head of Food Technology with day-to-day operations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Prepare and set up equipment for lessons
- Assist with the maintenance and organisation of the Food Technology department
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Experience in a similar role or within a school environment
Preferred
- Experience in a Food Technology or catering environment
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Experience with classroom support or teaching assistant roles
- Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, such as supporting the Art Technician role
