Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge students at both MPS and UPS levels.
  • Support students in achieving strong results at GCSE and A-Level, including English Language and English Literature.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to departmental planning and meetings.
  • Engage in continuous assessment and provide detailed feedback to help students improve.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and ensure all students feel valued and supported.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress regularly.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English at both MPS and UPS levels.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to student progress and attainment at GCSE and A-Level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools in the classroom.
