The Opportunity:
As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of examinations across the school. Your work will directly impact student confidence and academic success, ensuring that every assessment is conducted in a fair and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the full examination cycle in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, secure storage, and controlled processes for all exam materials.
- Coordinate timetables, seating plans, and rooming arrangements for internal and external examinations.
- Support the SENDCo in the effective coordination of access arrangements for students with additional needs.
- Lead, train, and deploy a team of invigilators, maintaining high standards of conduct and professionalism.
- Communicate clearly with students, staff, parents, and external agencies throughout the examination process.
- Ensure a calm, supportive, and professional exam environment for all students.
- Manage results days and post-results services with efficiency and care.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex processes accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to compliance with regulatory standards.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and parents.
- Experience in exam administration or a related field.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, especially during exam seasons.
Preferred
- Experience in working with students with additional needs or in a SENDCo role.
- Leadership experience, including training and managing teams.
- Familiarity with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
