The Opportunity:
A Finance Assistant is needed to provide essential financial administrative support to the Business Manager. This role involves transactional accounting and clerical duties, contributing to the smooth financial operations of the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Business Manager with transactional accounting and financial clerical duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the school’s finance system
- Prioritise workload effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and documentation
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial processes are efficient and compliant
- Contribute to the school’s financial planning and budgeting activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good academic standard and relevant experience
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in financial software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role within an educational setting
- Experience with financial accounting systems
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance procedures
- Experience with budgeting and financial planning
- Familiarity with DBS and safeguarding procedures
