The Opportunity:

As a Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of a growing and improving school. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the school’s continued success and development, ensuring sound financial planning and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the school’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the school leadership team.
  • Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and other financial institutions to maintain accurate records and ensure transparency.
  • Support the Headteacher and senior leadership in making informed financial decisions that align with the school’s strategic goals.
  • Monitor and control expenditure, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to support the school’s long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for key projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely submission of all financial documentation and reports, including those required by the local authority and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in financial management within an educational institution or similar sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, accounting principles, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both staff and external stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with financial software and management information systems.
  • Familiarity with the education sector and its specific financial requirements.
  • Experience in managing large budgets and overseeing financial planning for a growing organisation.
