The Opportunity:
As a SEND Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to the SENCo and Access Arrangements team, playing a key role in ensuring students with special educational needs receive the support they need. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SENCo with the Annual Review process and day-to-day SEND enquiries.
- Coordinate, plan, and submit Exam Access Arrangements in line with internal, exam board, and JCQ regulations.
- Provide efficient and effective administrative support within the Inclusion department.
- Manage and maintain records and documentation related to SEND and access arrangements.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure all needs are met.
- Work closely with pastoral and learning support teams to facilitate an inclusive environment.
- Ensure all tasks are completed to deadlines and in line with school policies and procedures.
- Assist with the ongoing development and implementation of inclusion strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Achieved 5 A*-C / 9-4 at GCSE Level.
- Experience of carrying out administrative tasks.
- Experience of working in a role with high levels of information and complexity.
- Ability to work in an organised and methodical way to deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure and flexibly.
- Ability to work well in a supportive yet demanding department.
- Skilled in IT systems and communication.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of SEND policies and procedures.
- Experience with exam access arrangements or similar roles.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
