The Opportunity:

As a SEND Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to the SENCo and Access Arrangements team, playing a key role in ensuring students with special educational needs receive the support they need. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENCo with the Annual Review process and day-to-day SEND enquiries.
  • Coordinate, plan, and submit Exam Access Arrangements in line with internal, exam board, and JCQ regulations.
  • Provide efficient and effective administrative support within the Inclusion department.
  • Manage and maintain records and documentation related to SEND and access arrangements.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure all needs are met.
  • Work closely with pastoral and learning support teams to facilitate an inclusive environment.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed to deadlines and in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the ongoing development and implementation of inclusion strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Achieved 5 A*-C / 9-4 at GCSE Level.
  • Experience of carrying out administrative tasks.
  • Experience of working in a role with high levels of information and complexity.
  • Ability to work in an organised and methodical way to deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and flexibly.
  • Ability to work well in a supportive yet demanding department.
  • Skilled in IT systems and communication.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEND policies and procedures.
  • Experience with exam access arrangements or similar roles.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
