The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated General Science and IGCSE/A Level Teacher to join its Science department. This role involves teaching secondary students, delivering engaging lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum, and supporting student development in academic knowledge and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in General Science, IGCSE, and A Level syllabi
- Plan and prepare effective, differentiated lessons tailored to diverse learners
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies
- Support student progress through regular assessments, feedback, and personalized learning plans
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate new teaching methodologies
- Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science
- At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably within the UK curriculum
- Strong knowledge of General Science, IGCSE, and A Level syllabi
- Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons tailored to diverse learners
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues
- Competence in using educational technology tools
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Background in continuous professional development
